Tanakorn Buwprod was born and raised in Songkhla, a southern province of Thailand. He is a contemporary artist who uses animals as a visual language to express human emotions—fear, vulnerability, and the inner complexities we often hide. His works may appear simple at first glance, yet they quietly question society and identity. Many pieces draw viewers back into raw childhood memories or explore the fragile process of growing up in an uncertain world.
He studied Thai art at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University, where he developed a refined command of line drawing and painting. Tanakorn believes in transforming what is unpleasant or overlooked into something beautiful or compelling—an approach he considers deeply meaningful in art. His works often hold a quiet contradiction: gentle yet intense, tender yet unresolved. To him, a powerful image doesn’t need to be realistic or complicated—it just needs to make you feel something right away.
“A truly valuable artwork isn’t necessarily beautiful or lifelike, but one that conveys the artist’s emotion and spirit,” he once said. This philosophy reflects how he approaches his practice—as a form of communication that goes beyond words. The animals in his works may not speak, but they resonate with a sense of instinct that feels almost human.
Tanakorn has received several major awards, including the Outstanding Award from the Bua Luang Young Artist Project and the Grand Prize in the Drawing category at multiple international competitions.
More than just technically skilled, he is committed to creating meaningful contributions to Thai contemporary art—with works that are deeply personal, emotionally resonant, and quietly profound.
